On Saturday, September 29th, at the National Library of Greece at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center was held the training of teachers from schools that will participate in the “Let’s code girls ‘n’ boys !!!” event on October 20 and 21, which is organised under the national initiative “National Coalition for Digital Skills and Employment” and is part of the European Week Code actions.
The European Code Week takes place in all European countries from 2015 and aims at bringing programming to students.
On 20 and 21 October, the Ministry of Administrative Reconstruction, which is the coordinator of the National Coalition for Digital Skills and Employment, together with Oracle and REvive Greece, members of the National Coalition, will bring together, for the first time in a national event, pupils from primary schools from many parts of the country to start learning about coding. The aim is to discover the students’ skills in coding and to encourage them to delve into it in a program that will continue in their schools after the end of the weekend. Students will be organised into groups of 5, with equal representation of boys and girls, and will be coordinated by their ICT teachers.
In this context, 21 teachers from 15 schools from Attica, Crete, Trikala, Nafpaktos, Halkida and Karpenisi gathered to attend a training workshop on Oracle Alice, which will be used by their students next month.
